Illumina (NASDAQ: ILMN) is the dominant maker of DNA sequencing machines and integrated genomics platforms, with installed instruments across academic, clinical, and pharmaceutical research worldwide. The San Diego-based company sells the NovaSeq X, NextSeq, and MiSeq lines of sequencing systems, the TruSight and AmpliSeq targeted-resequencing portfolios, and the DRAGEN secondary-analysis software. Illumina is also pushing into clinical sequencing through its Illumina Connected Software and the TruSight Oncology Comprehensive genomic profiling assay, and spun off its GRAIL liquid-biopsy subsidiary in 2024.
