Xenetic Biosciences

Xenetic Biosciences is a biopharmaceutical company advancing immuno-oncology technologies, centred on a DNase platform designed to degrade neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) that are implicated in tumour growth, metastasis and resistance to immunotherapy, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Its pipeline includes XBIO-015, the lead systemic DNase I program being developed first for pancreatic carcinoma and other locally advanced or metastatic solid tumours and advancing toward Phase 1 clinical development, XBIO-020 for solid tumours, and ErepoXen, which uses the company's PolyXen platform for anemia in chronic kidney disease. Xenetic holds a sublicensing agreement with Takeda Pharmaceutical and research, development, licence and supply arrangements with Serum Institute of India, PJSC Pharmsynthez and SynBio. In September 2026 the company announced a definitive all-stock share exchange agreement to acquire privately held Swiss medical-device company Santersus AG, whose NucleoCapture platform performs selective blood purification; Santersus shareholders are expected to hold approximately 85% of the combined company, which is expected to be renamed Santersus Bio and continue on Nasdaq.
