FUJIFILM Biotechnologies is a global contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) focused on biologics, gene therapies, and vaccines, and is the second-largest biologics CDMO globally by capacity. The company operates as a subsidiary of FUJIFILM Holdings Corporation (Tokyo Stock Exchange: 4901) and provides end-to-end services from cell line development through commercial-scale manufacturing for mammalian cell culture, microbial fermentation, and viral vector production. FUJIFILM Biotechnologies has executed $6.2B+ in global capacity expansion in recent years, including flagship facilities in Hillerød, Denmark (acquired from Biogen in 2019) and Holly Springs, North Carolina, USA (a $3.2B commercial-scale cell-culture biomanufacturing site that opened in 2025-2026). The Holly Springs site was selected in June 2026 for the FDA PreCheck Pilot Program, validating its commercial-scale biologics manufacturing capacity for US drug supply.
