Amneal Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMRX) is an American generics and specialty pharmaceutical company founded in 2002 by brothers Chirag and Chintu Patel, headquartered in Bridgewater, New Jersey with major manufacturing operations in India and a growing US footprint. Amneal develops, manufactures, and distributes generic and specialty pharmaceuticals across multiple dosage forms including oral solids, injectables, topicals, and ophthalmics. The company is one of the largest US-based generic drug manufacturers and has been actively reshuffling its US footprint to focus on higher-value categories including sterile injectables, biosimilars, and complex generics. Amneal was selected in June 2026 for the FDA PreCheck Pilot Program for its new Long Island, NY facility that will manufacture small molecule sterile liquid products for pain management, respiratory and ophthalmic diseases.
